Christmas Concert – 16th December 2015, 11:30 – 12:00

Parents are cordially invited to GIS Christmas Concert, which will take place at GIS on Wednesday, 16th December 2015 from 11:30AM to 12:00PM. Extended family is welcome. However, please bear in mind that space is limited and we will not be able to provide seats for all guests. Children will perform in the entrance area, which will be set up in advance. As a result, the main door will be locked and we would be grateful if you could use the back door.

Following the preformance, parents will have an opportunity to take photos of their children. Please note that school ends at 12:00PM on 16th December and children need to be collected after the concert.

Information regarding costumes will be given to each child tomorrow. You will find it in your child’s homework folder. Please contact Mrs. Rasen if you encounter any difficulty with the costume. Also, please inform Mrs. Rasen if you have a Lucia costume that you could lend us for the performance. All costumes should be brought to school on Monday, 14th December.
Winter Party – 18th December 2015, 12:30 – 14:00

On Friday, December 18th, we will hold the first GIS Winter Party. GIS Student Council are preparing Secret Santa (please scroll down for more information) as well as a few games to play.

We would also like to have a shared lunch for children. As suggested by the Parent Association, we would like to ask specific grade levels for contributions:

• Grade 1-2: sweet items
• Grade 3-4: savoury items
• Grade 5: disposable cups and plates

We would be grateful if you could indicate your willingness to contribute to the shared lunch by completing a Doodle survey here by the end of Monday. Thank you in advance!

This is just to remind you that today is the last day you can purchase school photos at discounted prices through:

www.studiowest.no.

All children should have brought their membership cards home now. The cards entitle you to buy tickets for events organized by Gjøvik’s Culture Centre at a discounted price.

We would like to thank again all the community members who made this event such a great success. We raised about 1700 NOK and we have already collected 1410 NOK.

We would be grateful if the remaining parents could bring the money in as soon as possible and give it to Mr. Armanski, Ms. W or their child’s class teacher.

GIS Student Council surveyed all students about how they would like to spend the money. The students decided to save 1000 NOK for our new playground, and donate 700 NOK to a charity. If you have any suggestions, please, pass them to to the Student Council through Ms. Wieczorek.

GIS Student Council have been working on their Secret Santa project. Last Tuesday, during our assembly, all GIS students found out for whom they should make a gift. The gift needs to be in the classroom by Monday, December 14th. It should be handmade, nicely presented, and should be labelled with the name of the recipient. Please, DO NOT indicate who the gift is from!

Gift exchange will take place on Friday, December 18th, during our Winter Party.
